The Songs I Can NOT Live with out!

Growing up, I listened to country music because that is what my dad listened too.  I have heard every country song there is and watched every country music video there is.  In high school I would wake up an hour earlier, to watch CMT(Country Music Television).  I loved getting excited to see my favorite music videos; it was a time of relaxation.  The songs I enjoy listening to the most when I am stressed are "I'd Lie" by Taylor Swift, "Innocence" by Sarah Buxton, and "Sk8er boy" by Avril Lavigne.
"I'd Lie" is a very well written song about a girl being in love with her best friend.  She can tell you everything about him, but if someone were to ask her if she loved him she woul lie.  It is a song that makes any girl think and realize that she herself, has been in the same situation herself.  Sarah Buxton's song "Innocence", is a very sentimental song for me.  My best friend and I loved this song as soon as we heard it.  It is such a pretty song that people like me, do not really listen to the words until the tenth time listening to it.  It is about a girl loosing her "innocence" in many ways and never being  able to get that back.  Every time I hear it, it makes me miss my best friend.  The next song that is just like my guilty pleasure, that I listen to, to really relieve some frustration is "Sk8er Boy".  Avril Lavigne's song is about a boy and a girl of two opposite worlds dating, then breaking up because people said he was not good enough for her.  One day, when my friends and I listened to this song we made up hand motions.  The motions make the song so much more fun and entertaining for everyone; a great way to just let loose!
The creation of music was the best idea in the entire world.  I am so thankful that music is such a big part of my life.  I am excited to hear more songs that I can listen to, to escape my life!

  1. Thanks, Madeline. I have to admit, I've always had a soft spot for Sk8ter Boy!

Do be sure to proofread your blogs before you hit "Post." You've got a few typos and a few misplaced commas. Oh, and I think you mean "losing," not "loosing"--think about it.

  2. I love the song Sk8ter Boy too!!! I like Avril Lavigne in general but that song is one of my favorites. It came out when we were in like middle school I think. Thats what makes it awesome. I can sing that song by heart. Good choice :)

  4. Country isn't my favorite type of music, but I can tolerate Taylor Swift (I actually like "Love Story" by her). I used to be obsessed with "Sk8ter Boy" by Avril Lavigne! I actually tried to cover it on the guitar :), and I like how you connect personal experiences with your favorite songs instead of simply enjoying the melody.

  5. I find myself doing the exact same thing, its like I latch onto songs that seem to have a meaning or personal story I can connect to. I guess its just nice to know that someone else feels that way too an chose to write a song about it.

  6. Avril Lavigne is my guilty pleasure. Her music just makes me feel super pumped and like I can take on the world. Sk8er Boy is definitely one of my favorites. You know me, and you know that I'm not the biggest T. Swift fan in the world...however, I do like the fact that her music comes from her heart. :)

  7. Apparently we have similar musical tastes! I grew up listening to country music too. You know my obsession with Taylor Swift, so I won't even go there with "I'd Lie," but I also love the other two songs you chose. "Innocence" is a beautiful song and I think it can have a lot of meanings and be relavent to a lot of different people. "Sk8ter Boy" is just a great song that everyone knows and has grown to love, even if they didn't like it to begin with! :)
